Long Drive Green Smoothie

Long Drive Green Smoothie

A long drive in professional golf: (1) What she’s hoping for as she gazes down the fairway from the tee box, searching for that perfect landing spot; (2) The long stretch of road that often lies ahead after the weekend. When the tour was traveling in the Southeastern U.S., the shortest long road sometimes lead home to Alabama for an off week. On one such occasion, I’m at the grocery store and text my daughter for a list of smoothie ingredients and this is what she sent back. It’s now our breakfast go-to smoothie. It’s delicious and includes healthy greens from the garden. When choosing a protein power, it’s important to look for one that’s high in protein and low in sugar. We use a NutriBullet for blending.

  • 2 large scoops of ice
  • 3/4 cup oat milk or almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (your choice)
  • blueberries – a handful
  • 1 banana – sliced frozen
  • I package instant oatmeal or Purely Elizabeth Sea Salt Granola
  • 1 large scoop creamy almond butter (found in produce section) or peanut butter
  • 5oz Non-fat plain greek yogurt (I like Chobani)
  • 2-3 large Kale leaves

Put all ingredients into the NutriBullet. Blend. Enjoy! Adjust the liquid as necessary.
